In Café de Lecq -v- R.A. Rossborough (Insurance Brokers) [2012] the brokers were ordered to pay damages in excess of £500K after the judge ruled that it had been negligent in its duty to its client.

In his article for insurance industry’s Post magazine Roger Flaxman commented: “This [case] has significant implication for brokers. Being pragmatic, the industry is not going to turn back the clock and forsake its technology-driven sales processes, so what is the broker's risk?”
